We do not want to turn any pet away - but this program is designed to help the most at risk pets get into foster homes inside underfunded and under-resourced pet welfare organizations. With that, we reserve the right to prioritize pets that are that is mix-bred, over 3 months old, have been in the shelter more than 60 days and any dog over 45lbs. 

In addition, we also reserve the right to disqualify organizations which:

• Have ample funding and financially resourced programs already
• Openly promote adopter/foster discrimination practices such as wage, race, class or other obvious applicant disqualifications which explicitly disregard diversity, equity and inclusion

We facilitate the collaborations between your organization and pet brands wanting to provide foster incentives for long stay pets. 

We provide your team with a printable and Digital Gift Card customized for each pet to be given to the foster at your discretion (we recommend you offer after a minimum 2 weeks out of the shelter with the LTS pet.). This card has a QR code and bitly link directing them to complete the Foster Incentive and funds will be sent to them via Paypal or Venmo directly from us to eliminate any additional work on your team!

We require your team to:

• Post a photo of the pet surrounded by, wearing, snacking on or using the brand products and tag the brand.  **We provide social media captions/templates for you - but you will need your team to share a photo of the pet with their gift bundle.
• Promote the $50 Foster Incentive and tag the brand any other time you post the LTS pet
• Accept the collaborator invitation or shared tagged content on stories that include gifts being sent to and photos of your pets

We also recommend that you:

• Promote the $50 Foster Incentive on the pet's adoption profile as offered by the Brand.

We provide your organization with the financial offer and gift bundle to be used as a foster incentive.  Since every organization is different, we do not believe it is fair to put conditions on how this program is offered.  

Our objective is to get more pets in foster homes.  We do provide basic guidelines we think will eliminate the potential of "scammers" who take in dogs for the money and return them the next day such as:

• Requiring a 2 week foster term
• Requiring a behavioral profile/feedback to be used for social media
• Requiring at least 5 photos of the pet while in foster care to post on social media/websites

As of January 1, 2023 we are currently offering 20 pets per month with foster incentives.

Depending on the need, some organizations may have multiple pets offered incentives by multiple brands in one month but each organization will start with one pet being offered a one-time incentive.  

Our intention is to provide shelters and rescues with monthly foster incentive opportunities - organizations consistently fulfilling the post requirement and communicating needs with us will be offered every opportunity as frequently as possible.

When your pet is matched with a brand, they will receive a 1 time $50 pre-paid visa card as a foster incentive plus a gift bundle. 

Our goal is to have brands become invested in the pets they offer incentives to to better understand some of the struggles pet welfare teams endure waiting for their favorite pets to get adopted.

While the $50 incentive is a one time offer, a majority of brands will continue sending supplies and posting status updates of the pet until adopted.

Depending on the pet and the brand, we customize gift bundles for maximum benefit to the pet.  For example:

If this pet has allergy/sensitive stomach issues - we will match them with a brand that has allergy or probiotic supplements and grooming supplies.

If this pet gets bored easily - we will match them with a brand that has ample enrichment products.

If this pet is in socialization training - we will match them with a brand that has ample training supplies.

Our goal is to give this pet the best chance to get into a foster home and STAY in their foster home ... with the ultimate goal to get them adopted!

Each shelter needs to consider their own rules and is fully responsible for determining approval before utilizing this collaboration.  

With that, we take great care to stay within the lines of approval - for example, we are not asking your shelter to promote the Brand and it's products, instead to promote the foster incentive for your pets as offered by the brand.  

While most shelters cannot request donations, they can accept them without repercussion.  Call it a "loop hole" if you will - but even so, it's still important every shelter stays within their limitations.

Further, there is no formal partnership or authorization between the brands and your organization and no money exchanged through your organization - Sploot maintains these relationships and facilitates sharing of benefits in an additional effort to eliminate restrictions by municipalities or board approval requirements that prevent or delay critical benefits offered to pets in need.

There's no additional stress put on your team to take professional photos of your pets.  Yes, we want to see cute faces but we also want to see content that reflects the adoptable pets naturally.

Photos of your pets training, on walks, in cars or playgroups and with your volunteers are all perfect!  The more photos/videos sent to us, the more we can share them on social media!

We will provide you with a slew of "example" content to make it easy to replicate or see. preferential content.

The more content you share with us, the more brands will post your long stay pets on their social.
